Learn Pentax Production Printers/FAQs
|
If your business is looking to upgrade from a line printer to laser quality, or just looking for a reliable continuous forms laser printer, Pentax continuous form laser printers and stackers provide you with the print quality, capacity, reliability, and versatility needed for production printing. Below are a few frequently asked questions about production printers to help you determine your options. |
1. What is a continuous form printer? Continuous form printers are often called "line printers" or "tractor feed printers" or "pin feed printers". They use holes in continuous paper to feed and guide the paper through the printer. Often used by businesses, they are designed for capacity, speed, and print cost saving. Continuous form printers allow you to run large print jobs unattended. They have a straight-through paper path and a stacker option to allow printing and stacking of a whole box of continuous forms without assistance. They have a variety of uses where a standard cut-sheet printer/copier is not practical. |
2. What are the advantages of a continuous form laser printer? Continuous form laser printers combine the print quality and speed of a laser printer with the advantages of continuous forms. They allow long, unattended print runs with a broad range of paper sizes. They allow high duty cycles, line printer compatibility, and power stacking and/or cutting of output. Continuous form lasers also allow tight registration. The pin feed drives are very accurate, to make sure pages are in exactly the right position to be printed every time. They are the ideal choice for applications that need the precise placement of laser print and will not tolerate paper skewing. Pentax continuous form printers are high quality black toner laser printers that give you laser quality. |
3. Why would my business need a continuous form laser printer? Pentax continuous form laser printers and stackers provide businesses with the print quality, capacity, reliability, and versatility needed for production printing. If your business is like most, you probably have scheduled business reports, invoices, letters, and forms that you need to generate regularly. Pentax continuous form laser printers are designed for a variety of uses where a standard cut-sheet printer/copier is not practical. |
4. Does it save money? Does it save time? That's right, more printing in less time for less money! That's why this type of printer is still widely used by businesses today. Plus, these are laser printers that can print laser quality graphics, images, and photos (in grey scale) when needed, making your reports look great. Say good-bye to old dot matrix! |
5. Does it print in color? No. These are black toner (grey scale) laser production printers designed for speed and ease-of-use. |
6. What is a stacker? A printer stacker does just that, it helps guide the forms into an even stack and makes sure your forms don't pile up on the floor when exiting the printer. The fuser in the printer utilizes pressure and heat to fuse the toner to the page, thus "ironing" the perforations and reducing the paper's natural ability to fold back again on it's own. The stacker assists by refolding the pages back into a neat stack according to the original perforations. Pentax makes stackers for each model. |
7. What's the main difference between the different types of continuous form production printers that Pentax makes? The main differences in the printer models are speed, resolution, and where you can purchase them.
